“Our government satellite surveillance systems are a new way for criminals to gain possession not only of our financial lives, but our most precious resource: Our minds. What can we do and who are these individuals who are trying to control the way we think, feel, act and what we do?"

Amid Widespread Drought and Famine – Smart city initiatives in Middle East and Africa are Leading The Way

This week in IoT, plans for a Wakanda-like smart city in Ethiopia are revealed, while Cork’s DePuy Synthes gets international recognition.

After the smash hit release of the film Black Panther – chronicling the defence of a hyper-advanced city in a fictional city-state called Wakanda by a superhero king – a smart city developer aims to help build something similar.

According to the Ethiopian News Agency, the country’s government, in partnership with the developer called HubCity Live, will aim to build the $3bn internet of things (IoT) connected city in an area called Bahir Dar in the state of Amhara.

Expected to take up to 10 years to develop, the blueprints were presented during a workshop in the country’s capital of Addis Ababa, including the Ethiopian national and regional governments.

Speaking of Bahir Dar’s potential, HubCity Live Ethiopia’s co-founder, Mikal Kamil, described the region as the “cradle of humanity” and noted “its geographical resemblance with the city of Wakanda in the movie Black Panther”.

When completed, the city will bring various smart technologies and IoT, with the aim of it being a centre for various institutions to undergo developments in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). More

Africa is the second-fastest urbanizing region in the world. Cities throughout the continent can utilize tech innovations to help reduce congestion, enhance service delivery, and improve overall quality of life for citizens.

Of wars and famine in Ethiopia

‍Famine in Ethiopia & Horn of Africa
A 30 years-long rough patch

When compared with today, Ethiopia’s been through a thirty years-long rough patch that started in the 1970s. Not to say that things are so well today, they’re just less bad. The country experienced from social unrest to open wars and economic to human crises with refugees from wars and famines.

For decades, public policies of forced resettlement and forced enrollment of workers (among others) completely messed up the entire economy and agriculture. What’s more, politicians have completely failed to plan in any way for the population growth. Nothing was done in the capital Addis Ababa to accommodate the growing number of people (thus slums were created) and nothing was made to ensure the local agriculture could feed the increase in population.

Migration, conflicts and famine in Ethiopia

It appeared obvious in many studies that civil conflicts led refugees to take shelter in cities, especially women (men would often be killed or abducted). This only aggravated the situation in cities in terms of both accommodation and lack of food. In turn, the situation within cities became more unstable as well.

On the other hand, famine in Ethiopia hasn’t led to massive flows of refugees going to the cities. Most likely, it seems this is thanks to the work of NGOs in famine relief and delivering aid, but also because in times of famine, cities are the hardest hit and the last stop for food delivery from the countryside.

Obviously, most people would rather stay near the production centers (i.e. the fields). Besides, over time the rural population had come to know about the situation in Addis Ababa: insecurity, lack of jobs, and lack of housing; so they gradually came to populate the other cities in Ethiopia.

How Geoengineering aka: “Climate Change” is used to Displace Populations

Have you wondered where these terms ‘sustainability‘ and ‘smart growth‘ and ‘high density urban mixed use development‘ came from?

Engineered Drought Devastation Is Wreaking Havoc On Four Continents

We live in a societal paradigm in which glaringly obvious truths and blatant realities (which should be visible to any with clear vision and a sense of reason) are completely denied by the experts and agencies that the public believes are paid to know and tell the truth. The greatest and most shocking example of this conditioned (or paid) blindness is centered on the subject of global climate engineering and its rapidly worsening cataclysmic effects

pic435

In addition to destroying the ozone layer and completely contaminating the entire biosphere, geoengineering is causing historic drought on four continents. The world’s ground water is being depleted at an astoundingly rapid rate

Villagers collect water from a nearly dry well at Jainoor village

The laws of physics dictate more rain on a warming planet (and our planet is in meltdown), how is it possible that there is so much drought? Geoengineering is the unacknowledged elephant in the room that is creating drought. The science community admits geoengineering “could cut” global rainfall, but has yet to show the courage to state climate engineering has long since been fully deployed. Solar radiation management (SRM) programs are creating global dimming which then fuels global droughts.

Killer droughts (that are a direct result of climate engineering) are decimating countless regions around the planet. BrazilPuerto RicoAustraliaAfricaRussiaThe US, the Philippines, and the Caribbean to name a few. The power structure and the geoengineers who do their bidding have humanity by the throat and they are not about to let go. They control the flow of water and the toxicity of the air we breath. Those who print the money are controlling the fate of planet Earth and all life on it, so far populations have stood by and let it happen. It is up to each and every one of us to get involved with this all important battle to bring the climate engineering omnicide to the light of day before all is lost. Exposing and halting climate engineering must be our top priority. If the weather warfare assault is not stopped soon, nothing else will matter. When communicating this issue to elected officials, meteorologists, media, etc (that are publicly denying the lethal geoengineering issue), they should be informed in writing that the public will likely hold them accountable as accomplices in the climate engineering crimes and cover-up once the population is fully awakened to reality. When geoengineering is brought to an end, we will have many other challenges to face, but stopping climate engineering is the first step on which all others depend. Make your voice heard in this most critical fight.

"I think the subject which will be of most importance politically is mass psychology....Although this science will be diligently studied, it will be rigidly confined to the governing class. The populace will not be allowed to know how its convictions were generated."
-- Bertrand Russell in The Impact of Science on Society

“Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar.”
